The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has not recommended any candidate for the post of Director (Finance) at Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) after holding interviews on December 17, 2025. Following interactions with 10 shortlisted candidates, the board concluded that none were found suitable for the position.
In its decision, the PESB advised the administrative ministry or department concerned to adopt an alternative mode for filling the vacancy, including proceeding through a search-cum-selection committee (SCSC) or any other method deemed appropriate with the approval of the competent authority.
The Director (Finance) post at RVNL has remained vacant since June 1, 2025, after the retirement of Sanjeeb Kumar (IRAS:1989). Currently, Abhishek Kumar (IRAS:2001), Executive Director (Finance–Budget) in the Railway Board, is holding the additional charge of Director (Finance), RVNL.
Notably, the PESB had invited applications for the post on August 28, 2025, with September 24, 2025, as the closing date.
During the selection meeting, the following candidates were interviewed:

- Jatin Kumar Nayak, Executive Director ( Finance), REC Limited

- Ajay Sinha, Chief General Manager (Finance), Indian Oil Corporation Limited
- Anju Thakur, Executive Director (Finance) Corporate Accounts and Taxation, Housing & Urban Development Corporation Limited
- Nirmal Kumar Singh, Chief General Manager, Steel Authority Of India Limited (SAIL)
- Pankaj Gupta, General Manager, Gail (India) Limited
- Raj Krishan, General Manager (Finance & Account), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited
- Amarjit Gautam, Principal Financial Advisor, North Eastern Railway
