Senior IPS officer D.M. Awasthi (IPS:1986:CG) assumed office of Director General of Police, Chhattisgarh on Thursday. Awasthi took over the charge from A.N. Upadhyay (IPS:1985:CG) at Police Headquarters.
Awasthi was working as Special Director General of Police (Naxal Operation) for the last two years.
He was appointed Head of State Police Force in place of A.N. Upadhyay.
