In a significant development, C Neelakanta Reddy (IRSSE:1997) has been appointed as the new Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (NMDC), Hyderabad.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (September 13, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved Mr. Reddy’s appointment to the post for an initial tenure of three years from the date of assumption of charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
NMDC, a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Steel, is India’s largest iron ore producer and exporter. His appointment is expected to further strengthen the vigilance mechanism in the PSU, ensuring greater transparency and accountability in its functioning.
