The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has failed to find a suitable candidate for the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) at a selection meeting held on September 12, 2025. The PESB interviewed five candidates for the job following which it did not recommended any candidate for the post and advised the Administrative Ministry/Department to choose an appropriate course of action for selection including the search cum selection committee (SCSC) or as deemed appropriate with the approval of the competent authority.
The following candidates were interviewed for the post:
- Vippagunta Rama Manohara Rao – Director (Finance), RailTel Corporation of India Limited
- Vivek Jaiswal – Principal General Manager, Enterprise Business, BSNL, New Delhi
- R Venu Gopal – Senior General Manager, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited
- Krishna Mohan Srivastava – Senior General Manager & Business Area Head, Sitapur, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited
- Dr. Ajit Kumar Thakur – Executive Director (Alternate Energy), Indian Oil Corporation Limited
