ACC effects secretary level reshuffle; S Gopalakrishnan appointed Chairman, SSC

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Saturday effected a secretary-level reshuffle.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

1. Subrata Gupta (IAS:1990:WB), presently in the cadre, has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries vice Anita Praveen (IAS:1989:TN) upon her superannuation on 30.11.2024.
2. S Gopalakrishnan (IAS:1991:TN) has been appointed as Chairman, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. Krishnan replaces Rakesh Ranjan (IAS:1992:MN) who takes VRS w.e.f. 31.10.2024. Presently, Krishnan is DG, National Productivity Council (NPC) under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
3. Puneet Kumar Goel (IAS:1991:AGMUT), presently serving as Chief Secretary of Goa, has been appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
4. Tanmay Kumar (IAS:1993:RJ) has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF &CC) vice Leena Leena Nandan (IAS:1987:UP) upon her superannuation on 31.12.2024. Presently, Tanmay Kumar is Special Secretary, MoEF & CC.
5. V Umashankar (IAS:1993:HY) has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways vice Anurag Jain (IAS:1989:MP). Presently, he is serving in Cadre.
6. Vikram Dev Dutt (IAS:1993:AGMUT) has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Coal. Presently, he is DG, Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
7. Surendra Kumar Bagde (IAS:1993:MH) has been appointed as DG, National Centre for Good Governance, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. Presently, he is serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA).

The ACC has also approved in-situ upgradation of the following officer to the level of Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.

1. The post of Additional Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting held by Neerja Sekhar (IAS:1993:HY) has been upgraded (In-situ) as Special Secretary.
