REC Limited has been honoured with the ‘Sustainability Champion – Editor’s Choice Award’ at the Outlook Planet Sustainability Summit & Awards 2024. The award ceremony was organised by the Outlook Group in partnership with IIT Goa. This award recognizes REC’s solid commitment to sustainability and its proactive steps towards a greener future.
At the event in Goa, Ms. Saraswathi, Senior General Manager of REC’s Mumbai Office, received the award.
REC has been leading the charge in India’s shift to cleaner energy. The company’s plans are closely aligned with global trends towards clean
energy sources. The company remains committed to be the top financier in this transition, already showing significant investment in sustainable initiatives. Right now, the company has dedicated about ₹38,971 crores to renewable energy in its loan portfolio. It has set a target of improving the renewables mix to around 30% of projected loan book of about 10 lakh crores by the year 2030.
The Outlook Planet Sustainability Summit & Awards is a significant platform that brings together industry leaders, policymakers, and sustainability advocates to celebrate and promote excellence in sustainable practices.
