Assam: IAS officer Niraj Verma relieved for central deputation, two IAS officers get new responsibilities

The Assam government on Friday officially released senior IAS officer Niraj Verma from cadre responsibilities for central deputation. Additionally, two more IAS officers were transferred as part of the administrative changes.

The Assam government on Friday (17.11.2023) officially released senior IAS officer Niraj Verma from cadre responsibilities for central deputation. Additionally, two more IAS officers were transferred as part of the administrative changes.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows :

  1. Niraj Verma (IAS:1994:AM), Additional Chief Secretary, Power (E), Personnel Departments and Chairman, APDCL and APGCL, and Addl. Principal Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi, has been relieved by the state government and his services are placed at the disposal of government of India for appointment as Administrator, Universal Service Obligation Fund, Department of Telecommunications in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.
  2. Dr. Krishna Kumar Dwivedi (IAS:1996:AM) has been posted as Principal Secretary, Personnel and Power (E) Departments with additional charge of Chairman, APDCL.
  3. Rakesh Kumar (IAS:2005:AM), MD, APDCL, and Commissioner & Secretary, Fishery and Excise Departments, is also posted as Commissioner & Secretary, Power (E) Department and Chairman, APDCL and APGCL as additional charges till taking over charge by Dr. Krishna Kumar Dwivedi as Principal Secretary, Personnel and Power (E) Departments and Chairman, APDCL.
