As we predicted about the next DGP of the state, the Kerala government on Tuesday (27.06.2023) appointed senior IPS officer Dr. Shaik Darvesh Saheb (IPS:1990:KL) as the next DGP of the state. He will succeed Anil Kant (IPS:1988:KL), who retires on June 30, 2023.
Shaik Darvesh Saheb will remain as DGP of the state till July 2024.
Saheb was previously DGP of Prisons and Correctional Services. He has also served as the Additional Director General of Police (Vigilance & Anti-Corruption Bureau) and ADGP (Crimes).
We predicted three top candidates for the top police position of the state in our article published on May 09, 2023. The names of these three officers were K Padmakumar (IPS:1989:KL), Shaikh Darvesh Sahib (IPS:1990:KL), and TK Vinod Kumar (IPS:1992:KL).
