Following an order communicated by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), headed by the Prime Minister, on February 20 about senior IAS officer Rajesh Khullar‘s (IAS:1988:HY) repatriation to his parent cadre in Haryana, speculation is buzzing about his next posting.

Khullar, who is on an international assignment as Executive Director, World Bank in Washington DC, is likely to be posted as Financial Commissioner, Revenue (FCR). This post has been kept vacant by the Haryana government for more than seven weeks now.

Upon retirement in August 2023, he may be posted to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) where he would continue to serve as Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister (CPSCM). Retired IAS officer DS Dhesi (IAS:1982:HY) was in October 2020 appointed as CPSCM after Khullar’s name was approved for the World Bank assignment.
