Senior IPS officer of Telangana cadre, V.K.Singh, has in a letter to the Chief Secretary, offered to resign from service if he was not considered fit for promotion.
The 1987 batch IPS is currently posted as Director of Telangana State Police Academy. Singh was hoping to be promoted to the rank of Director General of Police, as he was empanelled for the same by the government three months ago.
He, however, felt anguished that the government had not yet promoted him.
Singh pointed out in his letter that there were two vacancies in the rank of Director General of Police with the retirement of two DGP level officers since March.
He also pointed out that IPS officers of 1986 and 1989 batch in Telangana, were promoted in past without clear vacancies.
