To combat the nationwide menace of coronavirus, National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has converted its 45 hospitals/health units into isolation facilities. NTPC has dedicated 121 beds in these units for isolation wards. The corporation has also procured necessary equipment for its health staff to handle the corona cases.
The facilities for the use of state governments include hospital at Badarpur in Delhi, and the medical college hospital of Sundergarh in Odisha. The health staff in NTPC facilities has been trained to use personal protective equipment (PPE) through video link.
Additional ventilators, PPEs and sanitisers are being procured for different hospitals.
