12 IAS officers upgraded as Special Secretary

The Modi government on Wednesday upgraded (in-situ) 12 IAS officers to the level of Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Govt of India, as a measure personal to them, by temporarily upgrading the post held by them.

Their names are as follows :

1. Anil Kumar Jain (IAS:1986:MP), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has been upgraded (In-situ) to the level of Special Secretary in the rank & pay of Secretary.
2. S P Singh Parihar (IAS:1986:MP), Chairman, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) is designated as Central Pollution Control Board under Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in the rank and pay of Secretary.
3. Rakesh Kumar Gupta (IAS:1986:JK), Secretary, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), DoPT, is designated as Secretary, Union Public Service Commission in the rank and pay of Secretary.
4. Subash Chandra (IAS:1986:KN), Additional Secretary, Department of Defence, Ministry, Ministry of Defence has been upgraded (In-situ) to level of Special Secretary in the rank & pay of Secretary.
5. Alok Vardhan Chaturvedi (IAS:1986:BH), Director General, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), is designated as Director General, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Department of Commerce in the rank and pay of Secretary.
6. Sanjeev Nandan Sahai (IAS:1986:AGMUT), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power has been upgraded (In-situ) to the level of Special Secretary in the rank & pay of Secretary.
7. Shambhu Singh (IAS:1986:MN), Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has been upgraded (In-situ) to the level of Special Secretary in the rank & pay of Secretary.
8. Ravi Mittal (IAS:1986:BH), Additional Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance has been upgraded (In-situ) to the level of Special Secretary in the rank & pay of Secretary.
9. Pramod Kumar Das (IAS:1986:MP), Additional Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance has been upgraded (In-situ) to the level of Special Secretary in the rank & pay of Secretary.
10. Ms Satbir Bedi (IAS:1986:AGMUT), Chairperson, National Council for Teacher Education is designated as Chairperson, National Council for Teacher Education in the rank and pay of Secretary.
11. Sanjeeva Kumar (IAS:1986:AM), Additional Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare elevated (In-situ) in the rank & pay of Special Secretary.
12. Umesh Sinha (IAS:1986:UP), Deputy Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India designated as Deputy Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India in the rank & pay of Secretary.
