10 General Managers appointed in Indian Railways

The Modi government on Monday (30.10.2023) approved the appointment of ten senior railway officers to the positions of General Manager (GM), corresponding to Level 16 posts within the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS).

The list of the newly appointed General Managers is as follows:

1. Manoj Krishna Akhouri, currently serving as the Principal Chief Operations Manager in Northern Railway, has been reassigned to the position of DG at the National Academy of Indian Railways in Vadodara.
2. Anil Kumar Khandelwal, who is currently the Principal Executive Director (Gati Shakti) at Railway Board, will now serve as the GM of East Central Railway, Hajipur.
3. Amitabh, the Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer in North Western Railway, has been relocated and appointed as the GM of North Western Railway in Jaipur.
4. S Srinivas, currently serving as the Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer at ICF in Chennai, is now the GM of Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala.
5. R Rajagopal, the Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer at Rail Wheel Factory, has been shifted to the position of GM at Rail Wheel Factory, Yelahanka.
6. Hitendra Malhotra, who is presently on deputation at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation as GM, Electrical/Rolling Stock, will now serve as the GM of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works in Chittaranjan.
7. Shobhana Bandopadhyaya, Principal Executive Director (Vigilance) at Railway Board, has been appointed as the GM of West Central Railway, Jabalpur.
8. Ram Karan Yadav, the current DG of the Indian Railway Institute of Civil Engineering (IRICEN) in Pune, will assume the role of GM at Central Railway in Mumbai.
9. S K Pandey, who currently serves as Additional Member (Works) at Railway Board, is now appointed as GM of Northeast Frontier Railway, Construction.
10. Saumya Mathur, presently working as Additional Member (Finance) at Railway Board, has been reassigned as the GM of North Eastern Railway in Gorakhpur.

In addition, S K Jha, who is currently the GM of Northeast Frontier Railway, Construction, has been laterally shifted to the position of DG at the Indian Railway Institute of Civil Engineering (IRICEN) in Pune, replacing Ram Karan Yadav, who will now take over as GM at Northeast Frontier Railway (Construction). Similarly, C V Raman, the GM of North Eastern Railway, has been transferred to serve as OSD (Railway Stores) at Railway Board.
