Ravi Thapar, a 1983 batch Indian Foreign Service officer, has been promoted to Grade 1 of Indian Foreign Service in the Apex Scale w.e.f. 31 January 2019. Thapar, Ambassador of India to Panama, was concurrently accredited as Ambassador of India to the Republic of Costa Rica in June this year.
