Kerala : Nalini Netto resigned from CMO

The power struggle at the inner circle of Kerala CM, Pinarayi Vijayan seems to be further intensifying with the resignation of her chief principal secretary, Nalini Netto, a 1981 batch IAS Officer, allegedly, due to the growing influence of Political appointees at CM’s office.

In recent times, speculations were rife, when M.V. Jayaranjan resigned as CM”s private secretary, indicating at a power balance shift at Kerala CM’s office.

Nalini was appointed to the newly created post of chief principal secretary after she resigned as the chief secretary in September 2017. She was serving as home secretary and secretary to chief minister prior to the chief Secretary post.

Ms. Netto, a high profile civil servant, had also served as the first woman Chief Electoral Officer of Kerala. She oversaw two Legislative Assembly elections and one Lok Sabha poll.
