The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the name of Justice A.A. Kureshi as the new Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court.
Office of the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court would be falling vacant, very shortly, consequent upon retirement of Justice S.K. Seth, Chief Justice of that High Court. Therefore, appointment to that office is required to be made.
Justice Kureshi , the seniormost judge of the Gujarat High Court, is currently serving as a judge of the Bombay High Court after his transfer in November last year.
