Gujarat cadre IPS officer Rajnish Rai has resigned from services citing personal reasons, sources said. The 1992-batch officer has sent his resignation to the Union home department.
State home department officials confirmed that Rai has put in his papers with the ministry of home affairs. “As he is currently on central deputation, he has given his resignation to the MHA. We are yet to receive an official intimation in this regard,” said a top home official.
Currently, Rai is posted as inspector general of CRPF in Andhra Pradesh. He has been on central deputation since 2014.
