CBI : Two officers promoted to ADG & JD rank, two DIGs tenure curtailed

The Narendra Modi goverment, on Wednesday, effected a reshuffle in the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Joint Director Praveen Sinha (IPS:1988:GJ) has been elevated to the post of Additional Director General in CBI whereas DIG Amit Kumar (IPS:1998:CG) has been appointed as Joint Director in the CBI.

In addition, tenure of two DIG level IPS officers — Anish Prasad (IPS:2003:TR) and Abhay Singh (IPS:2002:MP)— have been curtailed from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

While Prasad has been asked to go back to his cadre state of Tripura, the services of Singh has been placed at the disposal of the Union Home Ministry.

The government had in January curtailed the tenure of four CBI officers — Rakesh Asthana, Joint Director Arun Kumar Sharma, Deputy Inspector General Manish Kumar Sinha and Superintendent of Police Jayant J Naiknavare.
